CELLAZIP™ vs. Poly-D-Lysine: Cell Adhesion Performance in 96-Well Plates

Comparison of cell adhesion using CELLAZIP™ and Poly-D-Lysine
pre-coated plates

Cell detachment during staining is a common source of lost image data and assay rework. This application note compares cell adhesion performance between CELLAZIP™ pre-coated 96-well plates and a competitor’s Poly-D-Lysine pre-coated plates using HEK293 cells and F-actin imaging on the Yokogawa CQ1.

Key findings:

  • PDL-coated competitor plates showed visible cell detachment in the center of the well during the staining process
  • CELLAZIP™ plates showed no detachment under identical conditions
  • Results indicate superior cell adhesion with Zeon’s proprietary ZIP-coating
  • CELLAZIP™ plates can be stored at room temperature for up to 12 months before use
